Butler
The Butler would supervise the footmen in all their tasks, which included polishing silver, washing wine glasses and decanters, laying tables and serving all the meals. It would be the Butler who would announce to the family that dinner was served. The Butler was also responsible for the wine cellars of the house, and for locking up the house at night.
